Free People Coupons & Promo Codes
Free People does not typically offer sitewide promo codes that you can find on coupon websites. The vast majority of 'codes' you will see are either expired, single-use, or refer to the automatic free shipping offer. Real discounts come from their loyalty program, email list promotions for specific items or categories, and most significantly, their large online sale section, which often features events with an extra percentage off already reduced prices.
Free People promo codes working right now
Codes below are ordered by how many shoppers reported them working at checkout. We show failure counts too — a code that failed for most people is worth knowing about.
No verified Free People code is live right now.
That is the honest answer, and it is more useful than a list of dead codes. Free People’s reliable savings are the standing offers below — or run a live search and we will scan social posts and deal boards for anything that surfaced in the last few hours.
Free People discounts that work every day
Codes come and go. These are the standing programmes that are available whether or not a code is live, and for most shoppers they are worth more than a one-off code.

How to actually save at Free People
Free People is a bohemian-inspired women's apparel and lifestyle brand known for its distinctive, free-spirited aesthetic. Part of the URBN family alongside Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie, Free People focuses on quality pieces with a vintage feel. Finding a working promo code is rare, as the brand's savings strategy is built around a massive sale section, a tiered loyalty program, and app-exclusive offers.
- The Sale section is your first and best destination for savings. It's extensive, constantly updated, and the only place you will consistently find items for 30-70% off.
- Wait for the 'extra percentage off sale' events. Several times a year, Free People will offer an additional 25% or more off all items in the sale section, representing their deepest discounts.
- Join FP All Access, even if you only buy once. The entry tier has a lower free shipping threshold than guest checkout and a birthday perk.
- Check the stock at other retailers like Nordstrom, Revolve, and Zappos. They often carry Free People items and may have different sale pricing or their own store-specific promotions.
- Use gift cards from other URBN brands. If you have a gift card for Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie, you can use it to pay for your purchase at Free People.
When Free People actually discounts
Timing beats codes at most retailers. This is Free People’s real markdown pattern.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Black Friday and Cyber Monday (late November) | This is one of the few times a sitewide discount or promotion might appear, but the main event is deep markdowns in the sale section and potential extra-off-sale offers. |
| End-of-Season Sales (January and July) | Major clearance events to make way for new inventory. Look for a wave of new items hitting the sale section and promotions for an extra percentage off those markdowns. |
| Sporadic 'Sale on Sale' Events (throughout the year) | These are unannounced weekend events where they take an extra percentage (commonly 25-40%) off all sale styles. Following their email newsletter or app is the best way to catch them. |
Free People coupon questions
- Does Free People have promo codes?
- Sitewide promo codes are very rare at Free People. The most reliable ways to save are by shopping the sale section, joining the FP All Access loyalty program, or waiting for a 'sale on sale' event.
- How can I get free shipping from Free People?
- New customers get free shipping on their first order. For everyone else, joining the FP All Access loyalty program is the key. The All-Star tier (achieved by spending $500 in a year) gets free shipping on all orders.
- What is the best way to shop the Free People sale?
- The best strategy is to check the sale section regularly and be ready to act during their 'extra percentage off sale' promotions. These events offer the deepest discounts but popular items sell out quickly.
- Does Free People have a student discount?
- No, Free People does not offer a standing student discount program. Savings are available to all customers through their sales and loyalty program.
- Are Free People and Urban Outfitters the same company?
- Yes, they are both owned by Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN). Because of this, you can use gift cards from Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, BHLDN, and Terrain at Free People, and vice versa.

How we check Free People codes
Most of the money at Free People sits in loyalty mechanics rather than in a checkout code, so this page is built around verifying those against freepeople.com’s own published terms and treats codes as the smaller half of the story. Any code we do list came from a page we can point at, and carries the date we last saw it.
When a shopper reports a code worked or failed at checkout, that vote is recorded and moves the code up or down this page. We publish the failures next to the successes, because a page showing only wins is not telling you the truth about coupon codes, most of which do not work. Codes that keep failing come down rather than stay up collecting clicks. Need something more current? Run a live search for Free People.
