Michaels Coupons & Promo Codes
Michaels is famous for its consistent stream of coupons, typically offering percentage-off discounts (e.g., 20% off your entire order, 30% off one regular price item). True sitewide codes are less common, as most discounts have extensive exclusion lists that often include everyday value items, doorbusters, custom framing, yarn, and specific brands (e.g., Cricut, Craft Smart, ArtMinds). Always check the fine print for applicable items. The most reliable codes are their weekly rotating promotions.

Michaels discounts that work every day
Codes come and go. These are the standing programmes that are available whether or not a code is live, and for most shoppers they are worth more than a one-off code.

How to actually save at Michaels
Michaels is North America's largest specialty retailer of arts, crafts, framing, floral, wall decor, and seasonal merchandise for the hobbyist and DIY enthusiast. They offer a vast selection of supplies for various creative projects, from scrapbooking to painting to home decor.
- Always check Michaels' website for the current weekly ad and available coupons before shopping. They almost always have a percentage-off coupon available.
- Prioritize coupons that offer a discount on your 'entire purchase' over 'one regular price item,' especially if you have multiple full-price items.
- Be aware of the extensive exclusion lists on Michaels coupons. Don't expect to use a 20% off coupon on high-demand brands like Cricut, Glowforge, or specific craft machines.
- Leverage the Michaels Rewards program. Even if a coupon doesn't apply to a specific item, you'll still earn rewards points on the purchase.
- Take advantage of their price match guarantee. Michaels will often match competitors' advertised prices for identical items, which can be combined with a Michaels coupon if the coupon is a percentage off your entire purchase.
When Michaels actually discounts
Timing beats codes at most retailers. This is Michaels’s real markdown pattern.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Weekly (Ongoing) | Michaels consistently offers a new set of coupons and sales every week, typically starting on Sundays. These include general percentage-off coupons and category-specific discounts. |
| Seasonal Sales (e.g., Spring, Summer, Fall, Holiday) | Michaels runs major seasonal clearance and project-focused sales throughout the year, often with increased coupon values or broader applicability for these periods. |
| Black Friday & Cyber Monday (Late November) | This is a peak sale period for Michaels, featuring deep discounts across many categories, doorbuster deals, and sometimes improved coupon offers with fewer exclusions. |
| Teacher Appreciation Week (May) & Military Appreciation Month (May) | While the discounts are year-round, Michaels may offer enhanced promotions or special events during these appreciation weeks/months for educators and military personnel. |
Michaels coupon questions
- Does Michaels offer free shipping?
- Michaels often offers free standard shipping on orders meeting a minimum threshold, which typically ranges from $49 to $59. Look for banners on their website for the current offer.
- Can I use multiple coupons at Michaels?
- Michaels generally allows the use of one coupon per item, or one entire purchase coupon per transaction. However, they may allow you to use an 'entire purchase' coupon and a separate 'percentage off one item' coupon in the same transaction, as long as the items are distinct and eligible. Always check the coupon's specific terms.
- Does Michaels price match?
- Yes, Michaels has a price match policy. They will match a competitor's advertised price on an identical item. This can sometimes be combined with a Michaels coupon if the coupon is a percentage off your entire purchase, but usually not if it's a 'percentage off one item' coupon on the matched item.
- What items are typically excluded from Michaels coupons?
- Michaels coupons famously have long exclusion lists. Common exclusions include Cricut machines and accessories, Glowforge, custom framing, sewing machines, everyday value items, doorbuster deals, and specific brands like Craft Smart, ArtMinds, or specific yarn brands. Always read the fine print!
- How do Michaels Rewards work?
- Michaels Rewards members earn 3% back on most purchases, which accumulates as points. Once you reach certain point thresholds, you'll receive a reward voucher (e.g., $5, $10) that can be used on a future purchase. Rewards typically expire after 90 days.

How we check Michaels codes
Most of the money at Michaels sits in loyalty mechanics rather than in a checkout code, so this page is built around verifying those against michaels.com’s own published terms and treats codes as the smaller half of the story. Any code we do list came from a page we can point at, and carries the date we last saw it.
When a shopper reports a code worked or failed at checkout, that vote is recorded and moves the code up or down this page. We publish the failures next to the successes, because a page showing only wins is not telling you the truth about coupon codes, most of which do not work. Codes that keep failing come down rather than stay up collecting clicks. Need something more current? Run a live search for Michaels.
