Express Coupons & Promo Codes
Express is well known for offering a high volume of promo codes and sales. It's rare to shop at Express without some form of discount available. Codes often provide a percentage off (e.g., 40% off everything, 50% off select styles) or a dollar amount off a minimum spend. The most valuable codes often apply to an extra percentage off already reduced sale items. While true sitewide codes exist, many promotions have exclusions, commonly including certain brands, limited edition collections, or premium fabrics. Stacking discounts, especially for Express Insider members, is a frequent and significant saving opportunity.

Codes come and go. These are the standing programmes that are available whether or not a code is live, and for most shoppers they are worth more than a one-off code.

How to actually save at Express
Express is a popular fashion retailer known for its trendy and contemporary clothing, catering to young professionals and those looking for stylish apparel for various occasions. They offer a range of women's and men's clothing, including workwear, casual styles, and formal options, along with accessories.
- Always check for a percentage-off-everything or a buy-one-get-one-free promotion. Express frequently runs these, especially on full-price items.
- If you're an Express Insider, wait for a sale that allows for stacking your member-exclusive discounts or rewards with current promotions.
- The biggest savings at Express often come from combining a general promo code (e.g., 'extra 50% off sale') with items already in the clearance section.
- Sign up for email/text alerts to get the first-order discount. If you already used it, consider using a different email address for another one, or wait for general public codes.
- Shop during major holiday sales. These events often have the broadest discounts and fewer exclusions, making them ideal for refreshing your wardrobe.
When Express actually discounts
Timing beats codes at most retailers. This is Express’s real markdown pattern.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Holiday Sales (e.g., Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) | These holidays typically feature store-wide sales, often with 40-50% off everything, making them great times to buy both full-price and sale items. |
| Black Friday & Cyber Monday (Late November) | Express's most significant sale period, with deep discounts, often 50% off everything and sometimes an additional percentage off clearance items. This is when they may also offer doorbuster deals. |
| Semi-Annual Sales (Winter/Summer Clearance) | Major clearance events occur post-holidays (January) and mid-summer, clearing out seasonal inventory with significant markdowns, frequently combined with an extra discount code. |
| Friends & Family Sales (Sporadic) | These events, often for Express Insider members, offer a generous discount across most products, sometimes including items usually excluded from other promotions. |
Express coupon questions
- Does Express offer free shipping?
- Yes, Express typically offers free standard shipping for Express Credit Card holders with no minimum. For non-cardholders, free shipping is usually offered on orders over a certain threshold, often around $50, or during special promotions. Always check the banner at the top of their site for current offers.
- How do Express Rewards work?
- The Express Insider Rewards program gives you points for every dollar spent. Once you accumulate enough points (typically 1,250 points), you'll receive a $5 reward certificate that can be applied to a future purchase. Higher tiers earn points faster and get additional benefits.
- Can I stack coupon codes at Express?
- Express is known for its ability to stack certain promotions. Often, you can combine a general percentage-off coupon with an 'extra percentage off clearance' offer. However, direct promo codes usually cannot be stacked with another direct promo code. Express Insider rewards and birthday offers can sometimes be stacked with general sales. Always read the specific terms of each offer.
- What is the Express Factory Outlet?
- The Express Factory Outlet sells clothing designed specifically for the outlet stores, often at lower price points than the main Express retail stores. While the styles are similar, the quality or fabric composition might differ. Coupons for Express retail stores may not be valid at the Factory Outlet, and vice versa.
- Does Express have a student discount?
- Express has offered student discounts in the past, often through verification services like UNiDAYS or Student Beans. While not a permanent fixture, keep an eye out during back-to-school seasons or specific promotions, as they may reintroduce it.

How we check Express codes
Most of the money at Express sits in loyalty mechanics rather than in a checkout code, so this page is built around verifying those against express.com’s own published terms and treats codes as the smaller half of the story. Any code we do list came from a page we can point at, and carries the date we last saw it.
When a shopper reports a code worked or failed at checkout, that vote is recorded and moves the code up or down this page. We publish the failures next to the successes, because a page showing only wins is not telling you the truth about coupon codes, most of which do not work. Codes that keep failing come down rather than stay up collecting clicks. Need something more current? Run a live search for Express.
