Etsy Coupons & Promo Codes
Sitewide 'Etsy promo codes' are effectively nonexistent. Etsy is a marketplace, and coupon codes are created by individual sellers for their own storefronts. A code from one shop will not work in another. The real way to save is through seller-run sales, multi-item discounts, or targeted coupon offers for things like favoriting an item or abandoning a cart. Occasionally, Etsy will fund a site-wide promotion (like $5 off a $25 purchase), but these are applied automatically at checkout for participating shops and do not require a code.
Etsy promo codes working right now
Codes below are ordered by how many shoppers reported them working at checkout. We show failure counts too — a code that failed for most people is worth knowing about.
No verified Etsy code is live right now.
That is the honest answer, and it is more useful than a list of dead codes. Etsy’s reliable savings are the standing offers below — or run a live search and we will scan social posts and deal boards for anything that surfaced in the last few hours.
Etsy discounts that work every day
Codes come and go. These are the standing programmes that are available whether or not a code is live, and for most shoppers they are worth more than a one-off code.
| Offer | Typical value | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Seller-Specific Coupons | Typically 10-25% off or free shipping | Sellers create codes for their own shops. Find them on shop banners, in item descriptions, or by following sellers on social media. They also send them to past customers.Codes are exclusive to one seller's shop and will not work anywhere else on Etsy. |
| Seller-Run Sales | Commonly 10-50% off | Individual sellers put their items or entire shop on sale. Use Etsy's 'On Sale' filter in search results or look for sale announcements on a seller's main page.Sale duration and discount levels are set by the individual seller and can change without notice. |
| Targeted & Abandoned Cart Offers | Usually 10-20% off | Add an item to your cart and leave it, or favorite an item or shop. Sellers can opt to automatically send a coupon to your email or Etsy account after a short period. This is not guaranteed as sellers must opt into this feature. You must also be opted-in to Etsy marketing emails. |
| Free Shipping Guarantee | Free shipping on orders over $35 from a single shop | Many US-based sellers offer free shipping on orders of $35 or more from their shop. You can use search filters to find items that offer this. The $35 threshold must be met within a single shop, not across your entire Etsy cart. |
How to actually save at Etsy
Etsy is the world's leading marketplace for handmade, vintage, and creative goods. Unlike traditional retailers, discounts on Etsy are almost entirely controlled by the millions of independent sellers on the platform, not by Etsy itself. This means promo codes are highly specific to individual shops.
- Always check the seller’s main shop page. Many post their current promo codes or sale announcements in the banner image at the top.
- Favorite an item and wait 24-48 hours. Many sellers have automated offers that will send a coupon code directly to you.
- Bundle multiple items from the same shop. This not only helps you meet the $35 free shipping threshold but can also sometimes unlock bulk discounts if you message the seller.
- Follow your favorite Etsy creators on Instagram or other social media. It's the most common place for them to announce flash sales and release exclusive coupon codes for their followers.
- Read item descriptions carefully. Some sellers include special offers or bundle deals directly in the text description of their listings.
When Etsy actually discounts
Timing beats codes at most retailers. This is Etsy’s real markdown pattern.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Cyber Week Sales Event (Late November) | Etsy's biggest annual sale. Thousands of sellers opt in to offer discounts, promoted sitewide by Etsy. This is the best time to find broad discounts across many categories. |
| Holiday Gift Events (Varies) | Etsy curates gift guides for events like Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Christmas. Items featured in these guides often have accompanying sales run by their sellers. |
| Labor Day & Memorial Day Sales (May & September) | Many US-based sellers participate in sales events around major holidays, often focused on home goods, outdoor items, and party supplies. |
Etsy coupon questions
- Are there any sitewide Etsy promo codes?
- No, not in the traditional sense. Etsy is a marketplace of individual sellers who create their own codes for their own shops. An 'Etsy code' is actually a code for a specific seller. Occasionally, Etsy will fund a promotion that is applied automatically at checkout, but these are rare and don't require a code.
- How do I get free shipping on Etsy?
- Many sellers offer free shipping if you spend over $35 in their specific shop. You can also filter search results to only show items with free shipping. Otherwise, free shipping is only available if a seller provides a specific free shipping coupon code for their shop.
- Why didn't my Etsy coupon code work?
- The most common reason is that you are trying to use a code for a different shop than the one you are buying from. Codes are seller-specific. Other reasons include that the code has expired or your order doesn't meet the minimum purchase requirement (e.g., '20% off orders over $50').
- Can I ask an Etsy seller for a discount?
- You can, but it's a delicate subject. Instead of just asking for a discount, it is often more effective to inquire about a discount for a bulk order or for combining shipping on multiple items. Many sellers are happy to work with you on custom or large orders.
- Does Etsy have a student or military discount?
- Etsy as a platform does not have a formal student or military discount program. Since each shop is an independent business, an individual seller might choose to offer one if you message them and ask, but there is no sitewide policy or verification system.
- What is Etsy's biggest sale of the year?
- The Cyber Week Sales Event, which runs from the week of Black Friday through Cyber Monday, is Etsy's largest and most widely promoted sale. This is when the highest number of sellers participate in coordinated discounts.

How we check Etsy codes
Every code here came from somewhere we can point at — etsy.com, a deal board, or a social post — and carries the date we last saw it in the wild. Etsy changes its offers often enough that a code’s age matters as much as its headline value, which is why that date sits next to it.
When a shopper reports a code worked or failed at checkout, that vote is recorded and moves the code up or down this page. We publish the failures next to the successes, because a page showing only wins is not telling you the truth about coupon codes, most of which do not work. Codes that keep failing come down rather than stay up collecting clicks. Need something more current? Run a live search for Etsy.
