DSW Coupons & Promo Codes
DSW frequently offers promo codes, often for a percentage off specific categories (e.g., '20% off boots') or a dollar amount off a minimum purchase (e.g., '$10 off $49'). Sitewide codes are common, especially during major sales events. The crucial aspect is their VIP Rewards program: VIP members often receive exclusive offers and codes that can sometimes stack with other promotions. Most DSW codes typically exclude certain premium brands or new arrivals, and it's always worth checking the fine print for exclusions and expiration dates.

How to actually save at DSW
DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) is a leading retailer of brand name and designer shoes for women, men, and kids, offering a vast selection at competitive prices. Beyond shoes, DSW also carries a variety of handbags and accessories, making it a comprehensive destination for completing any outfit.
- Always sign up for DSW's VIP Rewards program. It's free, offers free shipping (no minimum for VIP members), birthday rewards, and exclusive access to deals that can sometimes stack with other coupons.
- Combine coupons with sale and clearance items. DSW frequently allows codes to apply to already reduced merchandise, which is where the deepest savings are found.
- Check for minimum purchase requirements. Many DSW codes are '$X off $Y purchase.' Calculate if adding a small item helps you hit the threshold for a larger discount.
- Monitor their homepage and email newsletters for Flash Sales and Weekend Deals. These often offer compelling percentages off specific categories or sitewide discounts.
- Take advantage of the 'buy online, pick up in store' option. It's often ready quickly and saves on shipping fees if you're not a VIP member or haven't hit the free shipping threshold.
When DSW actually discounts
Timing beats codes at most retailers. This is DSW’s real markdown pattern.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Seasonal Sales (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) | Throughout the year, DSW holds major seasonal sales events to clear inventory and introduce new collections, offering significant discounts across various shoe categories. |
| Black Friday & Cyber Monday (Late November) | DSW's biggest sale period of the year, with some of their most aggressive sitewide discounts or category-specific promotions, often combined with bonus points for VIP members. |
| End of Season Clearance Events (January, July, August) | Deep discounts on a wide range of shoes as DSW makes way for new inventory. Look for an extra percentage off already-reduced clearance items during these times. |
| Holiday Sales (e.g., Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July) | Various holiday weekends trigger sales events, often featuring percentage-off codes or dollar-off coupons that can be applied to many items. |
DSW coupon questions
- Does DSW offer free shipping?
- Yes, DSW VIP Rewards members always receive free standard shipping with no minimum purchase. For non-members, free shipping is typically offered on orders over a certain amount, which is often $35 or $75, but this threshold can change.
- How does the DSW VIP Rewards program work?
- It's a free loyalty program where you earn 10 points for every $1 spent. Once you accumulate 1000 points, you receive a $5 DSW Rewards certificate. Members also get free shipping, a birthday offer, and access to exclusive bonus points events and member-only sales.
- Can I use multiple coupons at DSW?
- DSW's coupon policy generally allows for one coupon code per order, but there are exceptions. DSW Rewards certificates (earned from points) can often be stacked with promotional coupons. Always read the terms and conditions of each specific coupon for stacking eligibility.
- What is DSW's return policy?
- DSW typically allows returns of unworn merchandise with tags and in its original packaging within 90 days for a full refund to the original form of payment. After 90 days but within 365 days, a merchandise credit is usually issued. VIP Gold and Elite members often receive extended return windows.
- Does DSW price match?
- DSW does not typically offer a general price matching policy against competitors. However, if an item goes on sale at DSW within a short period after your purchase (e.g., 7-14 days), they may offer a price adjustment upon request, particularly for VIP members.

How we check DSW codes
Most of the money at DSW sits in loyalty mechanics rather than in a checkout code, so this page is built around verifying those against dsw.com’s own published terms and treats codes as the smaller half of the story. Any code we do list came from a page we can point at, and carries the date we last saw it.
When a shopper reports a code worked or failed at checkout, that vote is recorded and moves the code up or down this page. We publish the failures next to the successes, because a page showing only wins is not telling you the truth about coupon codes, most of which do not work. Codes that keep failing come down rather than stay up collecting clicks. Need something more current? Run a live search for DSW.
